Technician License Course

The Rusk County Amateur Radio Club periodically offers license courses to help you earn your Technician License. Our members will present the study material in a fun and interactive way that will help you remember everything you need for your exam. You'll also get a change to actually use radio equipment, send email via radio and practice your new skills. We will have examiners on hand for you to take your test at the end of the final class time.

When: Saturdays, August 13th, 20th & 27th

PAYMENT: If you would like us to order materials for you, you can bring cash or a check to the first class or make a payment through Paypal using the button at right.

NOTE: All FCC Amateur Radio License exams require a $14 testing fee. The fee is charged even if you fail the exam. This fee is NOT included in the Course Pack. All examiners are volunteers and do not benefit from the exam fee. For more details about the examination process, you can visit the ARRL.

A Course Pack, while not required, is highly recommended. It gives you everything you need to study for your exam as well as everything you need to get on the air when your license is issued.  The RCARC Course Pack includes an ARRL Technician License Manual, a Baofeng VHF handheld radio, and all additional classroom materials. Our course facilitators are volunteers and do not benefit from the price of the Course Pack. Please do not let cost keep you from attending the course.

Student Incentive: Any student, 18 years old or younger, who passes his/her Technician exam at a club hosted testing session, will receive a FREE handheld radio from the RCARC, making their Course Pack $30.
